While reading my newsletter for things that happened in this current week in the 1980's and 1990's I came across something that had a resemblence to the Travis Scott tragedy in Houston, Texas earlier this year. At City College there was a celebrity basketball game that Heavy D and Puff Daddy helped to put on. As a large crowd thought they were getting shut out they started to storm the doors and 8 people sadly died.
The attorney that Puff Daddy hired was Kenneth Meiselas who would be the person if I was Travis Scott and Live Nation that I'd want to handle for a potential criminal case given how well Puff spoke in court according to this New York Times piece showcasing the horrors of the day and remorse for what happened. No charges were filed against Sean Combs or the promoters and it's something that I never knew about till today: https://www.nytimes.com/1998/03/24/nyregion/rap-producer-testifies-on-fatal-stampede-at-city-college.html
