Culture is great not just for business but for learning the ways of the world. Thats why there is such an important emphasis to diversify your travels. Traveling around the world to new countries, cities, provinces/states, and continents that you only hear about in books or the internet growing up. When you do so you have the opportunity to learn about how other societies operate.
When you experience a new city it's enlightening to meet people of different cultures, try their food, view their buildings and architecture, see the spirit of the people and this helps to change your perspective from potential subconscious biases you may have had previously. When you return and meet somebody from that culture or place you've visited you now have something to talk about and the ability to relate. Outside of reading books this is a great way to build knowledge, understandings of others, and traveling and eating are a great way to live life to the fullest.
So if you follow my ZeeMap or Mapster showcasing all the places "Richart Ruddie" has been to know that there are so many more and yet so little time to make it to them all but if there's a will there is a way.
AI is going to change the way we make graphic designs for blog posts, create art, nfts, create royalty free music and sound clips. There's so many positive benefits being created with the future of DALLE-2 and the AI revolution thats on the horizon. Here are a couple of cool references to check out and use:
For image creation on the fly you can register with OpenAI this is a game changer that is going to destroy the royalty image business overnight. Think about how the iPhone destroyed MP3 players. Who is going to want stock images of a team at work for a fee when they can generate it via AI in seconds and ensure it's unique and is not going to be recreated?
For fun I put in Richart Ruddie to see what images would be created in the OpenAI image generator and here is what it created:
As you can see I don't look like either men on the left or right and I don't have a sculpture or statue in a square but maybe it was focusing on Rich and Art? That could be the reasoning for the ship sailing. To determine if a photo is created via OpenAI look for the colors of the rainbow in the bottom right corner.
Since I'm an art collector and fan I typed in Picasso Painting on the Beach. The initial photos had an easel on the sand. A clear operator error that was adjusted to "a picasso painting of the beach" and this is what it generated:
We have choices everyday in everything we do in life. If you decide to stay for a hurricane or flee. Do you tweet or go to lunch to meet a new business contact. Do you apply for that job or stay where you are. Every action or inaction can have substantial affects on how things in your life turn out. Most of the choices in our lives are fully negotiable. With negotiations our choices about what to do with your time is important. You only have 24 hours in a day so make the best use of your time as time is our most valuable commodity far and away. With more time you can fix and resolve almost anything.
Your relationship with time and what you choose and choose not to do is entirely negotiable and up to you.
Quotes can be inspiring and give you a new sense of motivation. Sometimes they explain a situation when there are no words to say. Here's one of my favorite quotes and the reason why is below:
"There is no reality except the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such an unreal life. They take images outside them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself." Hermann Hesse
Hermann Karl Hesse was a 1946 Nobel Prize winner from Germany. The German-Swiss poet, novelist, and painters works crossed multiple continents. His best-known works include Demian, Steppenwolf, Siddhartha, and The Glass Bead Game, each of which explores an individual's search for authenticity, self-knowledge and spirituality.
As there is no reality except the one we create and as we do things in life that the general response is "you can't be serious" or "that can't possible be real is it?" is often asked and it's important that we all live a life that feels unreal because it will push you to do bigger and better things in your lifetime and make your mark on the world.
Thank you to the wonderful and weird city of Austin, Texas and SXSW for putting on a great event. If you call it a conference to the attendees they may give you a sly eye like one who calls Burning Man a festival. Grit Daily a startup and business news website hosted thousands of in person guests throughout the week and live streamed to hundreds of thousands more who were able to stream the interviews and virtually attend the first SXSW event in three years.
During the event Rich Ruddie was able to discuss about brand and reputation protection services, do's and dont's and covering detailed questions about the influence of artificial intelligence and deep fakes.

South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly and has been one of the biggest events in the great state of Texas. It was cancelled due to covid-19 in 2019, suddenly in 2020 due to it being a mid March event, and again in 2021. It was welcomed back in 2022 but attendance is still well below it's peak years earlier.
Art Films are a growing trend. As an art collector and a burner I'm happy about this trend. Sotheby's just launched an art interview with the film director who came to the 2018 Burning Man Festival and is releasing a film all about the art. While the burn is not commercial and needs to abstain from any commercial influences to retain it's alter-universe perfect world it has been nice to see the Art of Burning man outside of Black Rock City.
From art around Reno, Nevada and the Smithsonian in 2018 (I believe was the year) had previous art pieces that survived the burn so others that haven't made it out to the desert experience can get a small piece of what it's like out there. It's a way to help expand BRC for the normal people of the world and helps expand the world's interest in art.
I occasionally get asked by clients who are working with their attorneys suffering through a defamation lawsuit. The question that comes up when looking at my resume is if I can provide them with work as an expert witness to showcase damages that they suffered from online or offline defamation and slander. These detailed reports if hired or retained are not typical of a service sold through The Reputation Management Company or any profile defender style service.
It's a very concierge style service where we have to go through and see what's been done to damage your reputation and what effects to your bottom line. From there a detailed overview of the damages and the cost to hire a reputation management expert or agency to get things all cleaned up are delivered in the final package. It's delivered like an attorney or law firm would deliver services based on an hourly retainer or via an hourly project.
The SEC is asking for commentary on whether or not public companies should take the BLM pledge. The answer is a resounding yes from me. As an entrepreneur who has started numerous companies with a diverse set of team members and continues to fight for greater equality I've found a way to help with effective altruism is to create companies and provide high paying jobs and opportunities for others.
I've been meaning to write this tiny excerpt on why I believe Zuck and his wife Priscilla have been traveling around the country as part of their 2017 goals. The journalists and media were fast to conclude that the reason was a possible future run for president. As somebody who loves to travel and meet people from different cultures and backgrounds not just in the USA but from all over the world I can say that the reason for the travels is to become better acquainted with the world outside of Silicon Valley.
When you travel you see how other people live, you learn to eat what they eat, experience what they experience on a daily basis, and most importantly you learn from them. The more you learn about other peoples way of life the more understanding you become. It's important to see the world through somebody elses lense and viewpoint and life is all about learning and culture.
So in my opinion that is the reason for the traveling. I look forward to seeing more of his updates on his travels and the lessons we can all learn from the great people he and his wife are interacting with across the country.
You're not looking for anything from anybody, you are just here to be happy and have a good time and if you can facilitate others to be happy as well then you do your part to ensure all others around you are happy.
I was telling a new friend as we shared a Lyft into the city about this interaction and he noted that it's great that you can showcase this without trying and others notice. In life I've blogged about making it and then mattering. I strive to reach a pinnacle and a second part of my life where I can matter in making the world a better place and helping to solve initaitves that really matter.
If you could have all the money in the world but you would be giving up years of your life (applicable for those 40 years and younger)
Its a valid question. How many people around the world would be willing to trade their life with Bill Gates is 60 years old and will have approximately 30 years left on this earth. You would have no financial worries but you would be limited to 30 years.
Call me crazy but I wouldn't trade with him if I had the chance. Love the life that you live and live it to the fullest. Our time on this earth is limited for now...
P.S. Do you believe that the first person who will live to 1,000 years old has been born?
Condor Airlines flying from Baltimore Washington International (BWI) to Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) direct for only $311.00 including one bag. Flight time is 9 hours. For those wanting to travel from the Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, Virginia region to Europe and know the headaches of flying on Wow Air (not recommended) then check out Condor Airlines.
Condor Flight 2075 is the one I will be taking and will leave a review of my experience. I flew from Boston on Wow Air to Iceland and can confirm that Wow Air is not fantastic or "WOW"ful they are more like Spirit Airlines. So only fly with them if you absolutely have to.
